As I've been looking around for summer reading opportunities, I've come across some more programs that are open for middle school students. Some of them have really cool prizes! So check them out....

US Airways - Reading is Fun! http://www.readwithkidschallenge.com/ Participate for a chance to win a US Airways Vacation package to Walt Disney World.
Barnes & Nobles - http://www.barnesandnoble.com/summerreading/ Go online to download the summer reading journal, read 8 books, take the journal back to any Barnes & Nobles by September 7 and get a coupon for a free book. There's other fun activities on their site as well. Note: This offer is only for students in grades 1-6!
Houston Public Library - pick up information in the Black MS library, at any Houston Public Library, or online at the Oak Forest Library. See the previous blog for more details.
Millionaire Club - Stop by the library to pick up your reading log. Turn in the completed log in August when you come back to school. Nice and simple :-)!!
Here's something to think about....You could enter 4 Summer reading programs, earn free prizes and possibly a trip to Disney World and have all the fun of reading some really great books. That's what I call maximizing your return on investment!
